Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Macon, Georgia 31217

Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract

Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts / week)

Weekly Hours : 36 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,570 - $1,680

Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : September 29, 2025

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact state

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required before first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent clinical bedside experience as a Med / Surg RN (2 years preferred)

Previous medical-surgical nursing experience highly desired

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans

Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Initiate and participate in patient education and discharge planning from admission

Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care

Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and safety protocols

Foster a positive team environment and participate in unit-based activities

Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study
