Our Client is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our University Park, IL team! The position requires a minimum of 75% travel nationally and internationally on a 24 / 7 "on-call" basis. Primary duties will be performed at customers facility or remote locations utilizing company owned vehicle, tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will be expected to inspect, diagnose, install, maintain, perform repairs in all facets using basic hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling, and provide extraordinary customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and emergency equipment repairs ranging from minor to complete rebuild / refurbishment to include hydraulics, roofs, roll-up doors, electrical items, and other repairs as deemed necessary.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns; maintains supplies; perform preventative and corrective field mechanical service on equipment on site at client locations.
- Establish service by studying system requirements; gather components and parts for completing installation and perform acceptance tests.
- Responds to emergency maintenance calls (travel required a minimum of 75% of the time).
- Analyze work orders, plans daily travel schedule, investigates complaints, conducts tests, and resolves problems.
- Document service and installation actions, completes forms, reports, logs, and records
- Establish and uphold business relationships with customers and peers,
- Address and resolve customer requests and concern while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
Requirements And Qualifications
High Diploma / GED3-5 years Relative Experience to include job knowledge of the following : Welding, Rivet driving, Electrical wiring and CarpentryAbility to read tape measures, change orders, specification sheets and blueprintsExcellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (high mechanical aptitude)Experienced w / Electronic and Pneumatic tooling and basic hand tools.Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines with strong work planning and organization skillsFlexibility to move from job to job and to emergency repair work and back to original jobSelf-motivated Team player (must be able to perform duties individually and as a team member)Excellent customer service & communication skills (read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions)Additional Requirements
Able to lift up to 50lbs continuously.Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, twist, climb and / or crawl and able to perform repetitive tasks (high physical activity)Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level, vibration, dust and fumes.Comfortable with working at various heights, on ladders and other varying situationsWilling to engage in cross-training and skill set advancement
