Audiology Instructor and / or Assistant Professor

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Minnesota Duluth seeks a part-time Instructor or assistant professor for a 9-month position to teach during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters, with the possibility of renewal. The Instructor or Assistant Professor will teach a three-course sequence in audiology required for the B.A.S. degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Required qualifications include a Master's degree in audiology, satisfactory oral and written communication skills, and eligibility for licensure from the Minnesota Department of Health to practice as an audiologist.

The instructor will be responsible for teaching the audiology courses required for the B.A.S. degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders :

• CSD 3160 - Fundamentals of Hearing Science (Spring 2026)
• CSD 4400 - Introduction to Audiology (Fall 2025)
• CSD 4600 - Interventions in Audiology (Spring 2026)

About the Department

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is housed in the College of Education and Human Service Professions and has 5 full time faculty members, 5 full time and 2 part time clinical educators, and strong affiliations with regional schools, hospitals and clinics. The Robert F. Pierce Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is administered through the Department. The program is accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

The UMD Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has an undergraduate and graduate degree program. The programs provide specialized coursework and clinical experiences which prepares students to work with speech-language and hearing disabled children and adults in a variety of settings, including the public schools, hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and private practice.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Audiology - Instructor : $50,437.50 - $67,250 annually; depending on education / qualifications / experience.

Pay Range Audiology- Assistant Professor : $54,581.63- $72,776 annually; depending on education / qualifications / experience.
