$2,328 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Charge NICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : NICU

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years of NICU experience, including charge nurse experience

License : Active Registered Nurse License

Certifications : BLS, NR

Must-Have :

  • Level 3 or 4 NICU experience required
  • Must have a vehicle for this position

Description :

First-timers are welcome.

This position requires Level 3 or 4 NICU experience.

You will not float between units.

On-call is required; standby when not needed on the unit.

Weekend shifts are required, variable and rotating.

The expected patient ratio is 1 : 3.

You will have a charge nurse role, which includes attending high-risk deliveries, making patient assignments, and overseeing the unit.

You may float to other units depending on your skill set.

Special equipment used in this unit includes ventilators, feeding pumps, and patient monitoring devices.

Patient population includes premature infants and term infants requiring medical care.

Vents are managed by respiratory therapists.

You will work with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy.

It is important to attend multidisciplinary rounds as part of the charge nurse responsibilities.

You may be required to complete modules and self-report time spent on them.

Traveler's refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.

Working three of the five major holidays is mandatory.

All scheduling requests must be submitted upfront.

Candidates are expected to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
