Associate Attorney - Trusts, Estates, and Tax

A well-established boutique law firm specializing in trusts, estates, and tax is seeking a highly motivated junior, mid, or senior-level associate with strong career aspirations. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration.

Position Overview

The firm is looking for an associate who is eager to grow with the practice and advance their career. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions for high-net-worth individuals, engage extensively with clients, and be part of an environment that encourages continuous professional development, including reading and teaching within the legal community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial client meetings and manage client relationships
  • Draft estate planning documents and oversee the completion of engagements
  • Collaborate with a team while maintaining self-direction and attention to detail
  • Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned, articulate written and verbal communications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Knowledge of trust and estate administration, estate, gift, and GST tax planning
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred if the candidate does not have direct experience)
  • Graduated in the top quartile of their law school class or from a top-tier law school
  • Experience in business and marital planning is a plus
