Motor Vehicle Operator II

University of Iowa Health Care department of Material Services is seeking a full-time Motor Vehicle Operator II to properly and safely transport mobile case carts containing surgical instruments back and forth between off-site sterilization location and main campus, University of Iowa Health Care. This position will be scheduled Monday-Friday, 1 : 30 PM to 10 : 00 PM.

Duties to include :

• Loads and unloads case carts.
• Secures carts using nylon to prevent damage.
• Communication of location and delivery status using hospital supplied cell phone both audio and text.
• Drive a straight truck, with air brakes and automatic transmission, with a GVWR of 26,000 lbs. or less.
• Operate a mechanical rear liftgate.
• Operate loading dock doors and dock levelers.
• Services vehicles, both interior and exterior, including cleaning and washing with power equipment, refueling and other minor items of vehicle maintenance as required.
• Performs as a warehouse worker when not driving.
