American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother Baby position in a maternal child unit requiring a CA RN license and C-section circulating experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in an acute care hospital's maternal child unit primarily covering Labor & Delivery and Postpartum8 L&D beds with 6 overflow, 7 triage beds, and 40 postpartum beds supporting approximately 1,800–2,000 births per yearL&D nurse ratios are 1 : 2 for labor, 1 : 1 for delivery, and 1 : 3 for triage; Postpartum nurse ratios are 1 : 4 coupletsShifts are 12-hour days with every other weekend required and possible floating to postpartumFirst to float policy for travelersCerner is used for charting and Cerner experience is requiredOB techs support L&D patient care and C-section scrubbing; charge nurse may take a patient assignment24 / 7 OB / Neonatologist, Laborist, Anesthesia, RT, and Pharmacy support onsiteScrub color requirements : Provided for L Navy for Mother / Baby / PostpartumNo call required, but optional pick-ups availableResponsibilities include care of laboring patients, mother / baby couplets, C-section circulation, and participation in high risk and VBAC deliveriesOrientation includes 1–2 shifts with a preceptor on the floorBaby friendly environment with interdisciplinary support including LD RN, NICU RN, and RT assistance during C-sectionsMust rotate holiday coverage with core staffNo ventilator responsibility and not responsible for telemetry stripsNo IV team presentFirst time travelers are accepted for this positionCandidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility in the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active and current CA RN license required at time of application; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent experience in Labor & Delivery or Mother Baby nursing requiredCurrent certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)Must have experience circulating C-sectionsCerner EMR experience requiredTwo professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibilityCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
