Our client, a growing civil and structural engineering firm serving both public and private sectors, is seeking a licensed Civil PE to lead and expand their Public Works division. This is a high-impact, leadership opportunity—not just a project role. What You'll Do

As the Lead Civil Engineer - Public Works , you'll oversee technical design, mentor junior staff, and manage a diverse range of municipal infrastructure projects from start to finish. Your leadership will directly shape the future of the Public Works department and influence its long-term success.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead design for water, wastewater, drainage, and roadway projects
• Conduct field inspections and ensure quality assurance across deliverables
• Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget to meet client expectations
• Supervise designs using AutoCAD / Civil3D and support technical development within the team
• Review and redline civil plans; mentor EITs and junior staff
• Serve as a primary point of contact for city and county clients
• Prepare and submit permit applications and related documentation
• Assist with construction contract bidding and award processes
• Collaborate with internal survey, structural, and civil teams across offices
• Participate in hiring and process improvements to support team growth

Location & Work Environment

This is an in-person position based in Bay City, TX , with occasional travel to surrounding counties for client meetings and site visits. Relocation assistance is available.
