Commercial Restoration Equipment Service Mechanic

Location : Richmond, Virginia

Schedule : Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 a.m.–5 : 00 p.m. (No weekends)

Compensation : Hourly Rate $18.50–$21.50 + Monthly Bonus incentive

A day in the life

Morning starts with a quick huddle at the Aramsco Richmond shop. You review service tickets, grab your tools, and roll up your sleeves. First up, a truck-mounted carpet cleaning unit with a sputtering 4-cylinder gas engine. You reference the schematics, run diagnostics, and bring it back to life. After lunch, you move through a portable extractor that’s lost suction, a dehumidifier with a control fault, and an air scrubber due for preventative maintenance. You keep the bench tidy, document findings, and explain repairs to customers in straightforward terms. Along the way you collaborate with store teammates to make sure parts are ready and customers are delighted.

What you’ll work on

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial cleaning and restoration equipment :

Gas engines (2, 3 & 4 cylinder)

  • Truck-mounted carpet cleaning units
  • Portable extractors
  • Dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, HEPA vacuums & more
  • Use manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic instruments to troubleshoot.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about issues, timelines, and solutions.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace.
  • Partner with teammates and store staff to exceed customer expectations.

    • What you bring

  • Hands-on mechanical ability (small engines, hobby builds, or equipment fixes).
  • Basic set of mechanic’s tools (required).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.

    • Bonus points : Experience in small engine, automotive, HVAC, or appliance repair — or bilingual English / Spanish.
