The Web Master will administer and maintain the comprehensive Institute-wide web site, ensuring design continuity across all affiliated Group and Center sites. This role works within a collaborative team to develop and manage solutions and content for all Oden Institute web pages, focusing on technical excellence and user experience.
Responsibilities
Administer and maintain the Institute-wide web site, ensuring design continuity across affiliated sites. Design, develop, and manage solutions and content for all Oden Institute web pages, including search engine optimization (SEO) content, as a member of the Web Committee.Maintain and update database structures for efficient and effective data storage and retrieval. Monitor and analyze web site performance (page speeds, loads, content flow) and recommend improvements.Develop and maintain user-friendly, web standards-compliant application interfaces (e.g. WCAG). Ensure compliance with applicable policies on web site usage, security, and standards.Provide training and support for content contributors. Create and maintain documentation, standards, and process improvements.Communicate information clearly, accurately, and transparently to ensure effective partnerships with departmental teams and clients.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Art or related field.At least two years of professional web maintenance experience.Minimum one year of experience developing websites in a production environment using a content management system (CMS).Minimum one year of experience with MySQL, Python, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.Experience reading and editing Django view functions and logic, especially querying models and rendering templates.Demonstrated ability to query relational databases via Django's ORM and write basic SQL queries.Preferred Qualifications
