Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities : Performs proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential / actual security threats. Investigates, documents and manages security incidents and hazards. Maintains knowledge / follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency / disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations. Provides information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety. For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Certifications / Licensures Required :

• Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Michigan Concealed Pistol License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Law Enforcement preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. preferred.
• Security Professional preferred.
