Shift / Hours / Location
F-M, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA
What You Will Be Working On
- Design and review of P&IDs, process descriptions, and other documentation required for process automation.
- Create and update control system documentation such as instrument indexes, instrument specification sheets, cause and effect interlock matrices, I / O mapping, and control narratives.
- Generation of process controls design packages following MLI Engineering Project Guidelines and industry best practices.
- Design and configuration (programming) of industrial control systems.
- Define and coordinate physical locations for instruments, control valves, control systems I / O cabinets, etc.
- Well-versed in understanding, designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Work with engineers, production staff, and instrument technicians to understand processes and automation needs.
- Develop and implement plans to address these needs.
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and instrument technicians to specify and procure instrumentation and control valves.
- Collaborate with IT staff and engineers for Process Controls (OT) network design and installation.
- Create historical process data trend charts and convert historical process data into usable information.
- Leverage historical process data and historical alarm data to troubleshoot process upsets.
- Well-versed in DCS / PLC software administration, including cyber security, user security, backup / disaster recovery strategies, etc.
- Monitor and address DCS / PLC hardware health issues using integrated tools and industry best practices.
- Perform PID loop tuning using traditional disturbance / response methods or software-based tuning methods.
- Support the startup and commissioning of all aspects of an automated process control system, including servers, switches, software, and field hardware.
- Understand and leverage digital communication protocols such as Ethernet / IP, Modbus, Modbus TCP / IP Fieldbus, and DeviceNet to establish robust communication between control systems and equipment.
- Uphold all MLI policies and the "MLI Code of Conduct."
- Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
- Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. It is the employee's commitment to ensure that the Company's actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high-performing team.
Qualifications
BS in Electrical / Controls Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience.Experience designing and programming DCS and PLC control systems.Experience programming digital motor control and variable frequency drives.Set up of the communications protocols mentioned above.Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to : Follow written and verbal instructions in English.Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.Work as a team or independently.Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.Maintain regular and punctual attendance.Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and programming DeltaV and Allen Bradley DCS and PLC control systems are preferred.Salary & Benefits

Summary pay range : $80K-$120K

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and outdoors in a high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is occasionally loud. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and / or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion.
