As the Architecture Higher Education Leader , you will lead our Hunt Valley architecture practice, overseeing design quality, client relationships, and strategic growth. You'll be responsible for winning and managing large-scale institutional projects ($10M-$50M) , guiding a talented team of architects, and strengthening our firm's position as a trusted design partner in the Mid-Atlantic higher education market .
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Business Development
- Lead and grow our Maryland architecture practice through proactive business development and client engagement.
- Collaborate with firmwide Higher Education leadership to identify and win new design opportunities.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with college, university, and institutional clients.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and community functions to promote brand visibility.
- Mentor and inspire architects, designers, and project managers to achieve excellence and career growth.
Project & Design Leadership
Oversee the design and execution of complex higher education projects ranging from $10M to $50M.Ensure design integrity, innovation, and alignment with client goals and sustainability standards.Lead teams through all project phases from concept to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.Promote collaboration across disciplines to deliver cohesive, high-performance design solutions.Team & Office Growth
Foster a culture of creativity, mentorship, and collaboration within the Hunt Valley office and across the firm.Recruit, develop, and retain top design talent to strengthen our regional presence.Align team capabilities with strategic growth goals to maximize impact and efficiency.Qualifications
Required :
Architectural License (NCARB preferred) with 18+ years of experience in higher education architectural design and leadership.Active Professional Architecture Licenses beyond Maryland (Southeast / Mid-Atlantic preferred).LEED AP Accreditation and SCUP Membership required.Proven business development success with a portfolio of awarded projects.Demonstrated expertise in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (preferred).Experience managing large-scale projects ($10M-$50M) from design to construction completion.Preferred Attributes :
