The mission

Lead the assembly, integration, test, and field commissioning of custom automation systems—ensuring every machine ships fully verified and customers experience smooth installations and reliable performance.

Core impact areas

  • Run comprehensive electrical / mechanical checks; verify part control, machine functions, and system operation per specification.
  • Support engineering / manufacturing on upgrades and configurations; create clear written documentation of field corrections and problems.
  • Evaluate customer product samples to confirm equipment compatibility and required configuration.
  • Conduct final quality and performance testing of machinery before shipment.
  • Execute installations, service, and warranty work with timely, direct customer and representative interaction.
  • Participate in acceptance visits, providing customer contact and assistance on-site.
  • Contribute to technician education and customer demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in automated machine building with testing / debug experience.
  • 3+ years as a service technician or lead machine builder in automation.
  • Associate’s degree / technical certificate or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of AC / DC electrical fundamentals.
  • Ability to interpret detailed 3D mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Hands-on use of machine shop tools (drill press, mill, grinder).
  • PLC experience is a plus (read ladder logic; make basic edits).
  • Competence with hand tools and precision measurement : calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges.
  • Logistics

  • Primary location : near Elgin, Illinois.
  • Travel : up to 20% domestic and international.
