Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with a current AZ or compact license and a strong background in perinatal care for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery and Postpartum setting
  • Average census of 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections per month
  • 12-hour day shifts, with flexibility required for other shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Includes care for Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, BFHI initiative, and babies rooming in with mothers
  • May be assigned as charge nurse after training
  • Travelers may occasionally float to qualified departments and perform patient care or support tasks
  • Attendance at Monday orientation is required, with compliance deadlines affecting start date
  • Only a maximum of two call offs permitted during contract period
  • Charge nurse duties may be assigned after appropriate training
  • Travelers must be willing to float to other units or perform task-oriented work outside their primary assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active AZ or compact RN license
  • Minimum 5 years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • Certifications required : American Heart Association BLS, ACLS or ALSO, NRP, AWHONN Advanced FHM (RNC-EFM may substitute for FHM)
  • Experience with postpartum care and care of mothers and newborns
