Safety Coordinator

Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator has full responsibility for the company safety program; ensures compliance with OSHA, and can assist with litigation and loss prevention generally, and within, the insurance program.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Maintain currency of the safety programs by monitoring legislative actions, evaluating new requirements and developing new programs.
• Audit plant safety programs for compliance and training effectiveness.
• Report all inspections / inquiries to GM / RSM.
• Monitor accident reports and analysis for identification of trends.
• Investigate accidents / incidents.
• Maintain accident files.
• Trains plant and transportation personnel in required OSHA programs (Orientation, Monthly OSHA, etc.)
• Initiate change in plant processes and procedures to implement a safe work environment.
• Completion of OSHA 511 or OSHA 30 within one year of employment.
• Respond to communications such as calls, emails and text messages at all times including nights and weekends.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
