Responsibilities Work in a high acuity Step Down Unit (SDU) similar to community hospital ICU settings Unit specializes in medical telemetry patients with varying acuity levels 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 00 am, three days per week Assignment length is 13 weeks Use of Epic EMR is required and prior experience is preferred Floating may be required to a nearby sister hospital Perform comprehensive assessments and deliver direct patient care across the lifespan from pediatric to geriatric populations Document patient care thoroughly and ensure adherence to clinical documentation standards Demonstrate proficiency with emergency equipment and procedures specific to the SDU / ICU environment Provide patient and family education, including pre- and postoperative assessments when needed Maintain a professional and collaborative approach to promote patient and team satisfaction Expected to follow patient safety protocols, including Universal Protocol and National Patient Safety Goals Scrubs or dress code will follow facility guidelines Assignment limit of one calendar year, after which a 30-60 day break is required before return Requirements Active NJ or compact RN license required Minimum of 1 year ICU experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted) Must meet physical requirements as defined by occupational safety guidelines Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627972.
