We are excited to welcome a new Engineering Manager to our Sunny Isles team.

Responsibilities
- Maintain all building related systems to ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with Engineering Assumptions / Culture, preventative maintenance programs, Standard Operating Procedures, Mission, Vision, and Values, and all Building / Fire / Health Department codes.
- Maintain building complex with energy efficiency in mind, constantly seeking ways to save energy.
- Assume control of the Engineering Department when the Chief Engineer is not available.
- Understand all building related systems and equipment (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Life Safety, IT, Kitchen, Laundry, Pool, etc.).
- Follow company preventative maintenance procedures and guidelines for guestrooms, equipment, public spaces, grounds, landscaping, and building envelope.
- Maintain engineering related accounting procedures to operate within budgeted guidelines while maintaining stock of supplies and materials.
- Interview, train, conduct performance evaluations, resolve problems, maintain open communication, and manage disciplinary actions when appropriate.
- Supervise, train, and assign tasks to engineering staff, ensuring maximum productivity.
- Maintain records for Preventive Maintenance Programs, Capital Projects, Life Safety Systems, and Inspections.
- Monitor and maintain all Engineering spaces in a safe, clean, organized, energy efficient manner.
- Tour the hotel complex daily to identify items requiring engineering, housekeeping, or other departmental action.
- Serve as the property expert on Life Safety items and train managers in these areas.
- Understand Brand related issues and procedures and assist in correcting them.
- Have a basic understanding of elementary accounting procedures and PC / Microsoft Office usage.
- Remain calm in stressful situations and demonstrate strong leadership.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Adhere to company handbook policies, standards, procedures, and core values.

Experience of 2-5 years in commercial or institutional maintenance; hotel experience preferred.College degree or relevant courses considered helpful; engineering-related preferred.Vocational schooling, military training, or certification in one or more of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry.Knowledge of hotel operations, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, repairs, maintenance, and quality assurance programs.Skills in multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, roofing, landscaping) with or without reasonable accommodation.Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff, set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.Effective verbal and written communication; ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.J-18808-Ljbffr
