Position Summary
The Food Safety & Quality Supervisor leads daily quality and food safety operations at the Plover facility, overseeing a team of approximately 12 FSQ technicians. This role ensures that all products meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and facility growth.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical expertise, leadership capability, and process improvement experience to a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Operations Leadership
- Oversee and continuously enhance production quality processes to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct Root Cause Analyses for non-conformances and customer complaints; implement and verify corrective actions.
- Maintain and update HACCP plans, SOPs, and quality documentation; ensure team-wide training and adherence.
- Supervise finished goods release, rework, and donation processes.
- Lead and develop the FSQ team through coaching, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Report on key quality metrics and KPIs, driving continuous improvement through daily and monthly reviews.
Sensory Program Oversight
Manage the plant's sensory evaluation program, including daily product panels.Train and calibrate panelists to ensure consistent sensory standards.Partner with corporate and regional quality leaders to strengthen sensory programs and product performance.Analyze sensory trends to identify improvement opportunities and enhance consumer satisfaction.Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Maintain readiness for all BRC, AIB, and internal audits; ensure ongoing compliance with food safety regulations.Prepare and analyze reports for management and customer quality systems.Champion a culture of accountability, learning, and operational excellence within the quality department.Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and leadership to support safe and efficient operations.Qualifications
Experience : 1+ year in a supervisory capacity (3+ years preferred) within food manufacturing or quality assurance.Education : Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).Certifications : PCQI, HACCP, and / or SQF certifications strongly preferred.Technical Skills : Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and quality management systems.Additional Experience : Knowledge of environmental sanitation, sensory programs, and continuous improvement practices.Soft Skills : Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive results.Compensation : $70,000$75,000 + up to 8% annual bonus Benefits : Medical, dental, vision, 401k
