Job Summary

Assist with the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Ringing Campaign. Transport ringers and kettles to their designated location.

Meet with paid Kettle Bell ringers at The Salvation Army each morning to transport bell ringers and kettles to their designated location.

Keep inventory of kettles and switch out kettles as needed during the day.

Pick up kettles in the evenings.

Keep track of all paid bell ringer shifts and hours by indicating start and stop times on kettle slips.

Perform spot checks on bell ringer locations at times other than beginning and end of shifts.

Conducts job duties in accordance with the ministry of The Salvation Army and its Christian principles.

Attend employee meetings as required.

Perform other duties as required.

License

Valid Sate Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the area and ability to learn most efficient routes to different locations.

Ability to arrive on time and stay on schedule.

Ability to get along well with others.

Ability to operate a vehicle, which may include a 15-passenger van.

Ability to follow GPS route directions.

Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED and

One to two years of experience in a related field, preferred.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).

Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Work is performed outside where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt. Dressing appropriately is important for comfort.
