Salary : Role Overview

The Special Education Case Manager provides part-time support as an independent contractor to ensure high-quality compliance, coordination, and family communication for scholars with IEPs and 504s. This role focuses on case management, not direct instruction, and ensures services and timelines are implemented with accuracy and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

IEP Case Management

  • Monitor compliance for assigned IEP / 504 caseload, including timelines, service minutes, and documentation.
  • Schedule, lead, and facilitate IEP meetings in partnership with staff and families.
  • Coordinate with related service providers (speech, OT, PT, etc.) to ensure implementation and documentation.
  • Update and maintain student records in accordance with IDEA and Georgia requirements.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Draft IEPs, amendments, and eligibility paperwork with accuracy and clarity.
  • Track evaluations, reevaluations, service logs, and progress reports.
  • Submit all required documentation on time and in correct systems.
  • Family Communication

  • Serve as the point of contact for families on your caseload.
  • Communicate upcoming meetings, progress updates, and follow-up actions.
  • Respond to family inquiries with clarity, professionalism, and partnership.
  • Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with special education teachers, interventionists, and general education staff to ensure accommodations are implemented.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Specialized Services to flag needs, trends, or gaps in service.
  • Attend scheduled check-ins (virtual or on-site) as determined by the Director.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid certification in Special Education (Georgia preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing IEPs and facilitating family meetings.
  • Strong understanding of IDEA compliance and state requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience in K6 settings strongly preferred.
  • Contract Details

  • Type : Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Schedule : Part-time; flexible hours based on caseload and meeting needs
  • Compensation : Competitive hourly or per-case rate (to be determined based on experience)
  • Location : On-site for meetings and school-based coordination; some work may be completed remotely
