Overview
The Department of Library, Arts and Culture has one (1) immediate opening for an unclassified, part-time, LIBRARY AIDE (NON-CAREER) - STUDIO GUIDE . Under the Senior Librarian's direct supervision, Studio Guides assist patrons with questions, Makerspace equipment, workshops, and other interactive library resources. The Studio Makerspace serves as a community workspace where people can meet, socialize, innovate, and collaborate using technology and resources. This position will report to the Billie Jean King Main Library, located at 200 W. Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802, but may be required to work and / or travel to various library locations across the City.
Non-Career employees are allowed a maximum of 1600 work hours over 12 months and are considered temporary, at-will employees who are not typically eligible for benefits. However, non-career employees may qualify for health coverage and sick leave accruals subject to applicable federal and state provisions. The incumbent in this position will typically work 18 to 24 hours per week.
