Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Financial Assistance Coordinator who will perform a variety of specialized support duties associated with Recovery, Paralegal, Collateral Officer, and Financial Assistance team functions under limited supervision. Duties require ability to exercise discretion, high attention to detail, strong follow up and use of judgment and initiative. This includes working knowledge and / or experience of the auto industry, vehicle repossession / disposition, business or real estate lending or asset disposition, and / or collection / recovery legal industry practice and processes required.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support :
o Support Paralegal through accurate and timely drafting of all relevant legal documents such as complaints, summons, documents for service, for attorney and paralegal review, and filing in appropriate court system, including but not limited to small claims, civil and bankruptcy.
o Support Paralegal in accurate and timely drafting post-judgment documents as applicable, including but not limited to settlement agreements, satisfaction of judgments, partial satisfaction of judgment, all forms of enforcement forms such as wage garnishment and bank levies.
o Support Paralegal through the timely and accurate follow up on enforcement actions with all applicable agencies, maintaining accurate records and documentation, timely informing Paralegal and Recovery team members of status of enforcement actions.
o Support Paralegal in arranging for document transport to all applicable agencies, including but not limited to, sheriff’s offices, courts, or legal counsel offices.
o Support Recovery team in performing complex skip tracing, including by not limited to, pulling credit and background reports, determining member present employment, and assets, making sound recommendations for legal pursuit or enforcement actions.
Member Contact :
o Supporting the Paralegal, Recovery Team and Collateral Officer, serve delinquent and charged off Members by accepting calls to assist them with any needs, issues or complaints, ensuring the coordination of timely resolution.
o Supporting Collateral Officer, Paralegal, and Recovery Team by accepting calls from all related vendors or agencies, including but not limited to, repossession companies, remarketing vendor, RCUAS, attorneys, auto dealerships, State National, sheriff’s departments, courts, process servers.

Minimum Qualification : Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and more than three years current experience in collection or legal enforcement in a financial institution or law office setting, real estate or business loan origination, liquidation, or asset disposition in a financial intuition or similar setting, and / or auto loan repossession or disposition in a financial institution or similar setting, in a measured productivity driven environment.
Compensation : Base starting range : $23.00 to $31.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
