American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele assignment specializing in behavioral and long-term care patient populations, requiring a ME or compact RN license and BLS.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical Unit with 21 beds and a discharge-ready focusPatient population includes primarily behavioral and long-term care cases with some requiring IV antibioticsUnit operates under a nursing home model emphasizing fall prevention, skin integrity, and socialization activitiesTeam nursing approach with RN ratios up to 1 : 9 and strong CNA and care management supportNight shift schedule from 7P-7A working 12-hour shiftsWeekend rotation required every other weekend, no on-call responsibilitiesFloating required to any area within scope of practice as neededUses Cerner EMR, Alaris, and PyxisResponsibilities include medication administration, dressing changes, straight catheterizations, and documentation per shiftSupport staff includes CNAs, charge nurse, activities coordinator, social worker, case manager, phlebotomist, RT, and PT / OT / STOrientation includes 2 days of hospital orientation plus 1 shift on unitFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyProfessional scrubs of any color allowed; no acrylic nails or croc shoes permittedHoliday coverage assigned as neededFree parking is available in designated areas\n \n Requirements\n
Active ME or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS certification is mandatoryAt least 1 year of recent Med / Surg Tele or related specialty experience requiredExperience with geriatric, behavioral, SNF, or LTACH patient populations strongly preferredCharge experience, wound care, IV antibiotic administration, and enteral feeding skills requiredMust not have previously worked in a permanent capacity at any Northern Light Health HospitalPermanent address must be 100+ miles south or southwest of the Bangor facility for considerationFlu vaccination required with medical exemptions reviewed by approval committee\n Benefits\n
