We are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Resident Engineer for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. This is a milestone project that is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

As the Senior Resident Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of this significant project. Responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards, particularly in areas involving large shafts, excavation, and Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) tunnelling.
• Act as the main liaison between contractors, site supervisors, and project engineers to resolve on-site issues, clarify project requirements, and ensure smooth coordination and alignment on project objectives.
• Enforce safety protocols and monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations specific to heavy civil and tunnelling work, including conducting regular safety inspections and initiating corrective actions for any identified risks or non-compliance.
• Prepare detailed daily and weekly reports on construction progress, site conditions, and any challenges encountered, maintaining comprehensive records of on-site activities, including inspections, test results, and incident reports, ensuring accurate documentation of project milestones.
• Identify and resolve on-site engineering and construction issues as they arise, particularly those unique to excavation and SEM tunnelling operations.

Qualifications

The estimated salary for this position is $200,000 $250,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
