Seaman Storekeeper
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Seaman Storekeeper to oversee the handling, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, and transportation, and disposal of Next Generation Logistics property. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent logistical coordination skills, a solid understanding of regulatory compliance, particularly Coast Guard regulations.
Summary Description
The Seaman Storekeeper (SNSK) is designated by the Company as a vessel crew member and shall be responsible for representing, enforcing, and preserving Company interests, policies and procedures to other crew, clients, sub-contractors, and duly authorized authorities. The SNSK is accountable to the Master and shall report to the Chief Engineer as directed. The SNSK shall, as directed, cooperate and work closely with client representatives, Operations Coordinator, vessel Officers, and any other persons necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
Responsibilities
This position will provide administrative and logistics support for our operations teams.
- Logistics Management : Manage logistics for equipment, personnel, and materials required for offshore and restoration projects, ensuring efficient deployment and utilization.
- Asset tracking & cost tracking : Client Liaison : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding logistics inquiries, updates, and issue resolution.
- Supply Chain Management : Oversee inventory control and supply chain logistics to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Compliance and Safety : Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout all logistical operations.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily progress reports, equipment logs, and safety documentation. May assist in preparation of comprehensive project reports for stakeholders.
- Perform clerical tasks including data entry, filing, photocopying, scanning, etc.
- Perform other administrative duties as required or assigned by operations management.
Qualifications and Experience :
The minimum qualifications, credentials, and experience required for each SNSK are :
Be a citizen of the United States of America.Have a Secret security clearance.Possess the U.S. Coast Guard credentials required by law for service as an Ordinary Seaman or Able-Bodied Seaman on the route and class of vessel appointed to, including a valid Medical Certificate.Must possess STCW Basic Safety Training (SST).Possess a current Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) and a valid United States Passport.Possess a current Merchant Mariner Card.Possess a First Aid / CPR certification.Have the ability to read and write English as well as render, understand, and react to commands given in English.Have extensive experience procuring and managing U.S. Government property, preferably in the marine environment. At least five years' experience as a USCG or USN storekeeper or Supply Officer is highly preferred. Experience with NS, SAMM, or similar software is also preferred.What youll get in return :
