Position Summary
College Success Mentors provide postsecondary support to graduates of the Martha O’Bryan Center’s Academic Student Unions, with the goal of promoting persistence and degree completion. Mentors maintain regular contact with a core caseload of students and coordinate cohort-based activities that foster peer-to-peer support. Positions are located at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Nashville State Community College, and Tennessee State University (TSU) and Belmont University. This position is part-time approximately 10 hours per week. Most activities occur on campus with monthly off campus meetings at the Martha O’Bryan Center in Nashville.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Academic Student Union coaches to provide support to underclassmen enrolled in the program.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate monthly student social events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with college administration and student services groups.
- Advocate for students as necessary.
- Prepare weekly reports for ASU staff
- Maintain accurate data associated with all mentee meetings and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Junior or Senior in good standing at your university.Minimum 3.0 GPA required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
