Sr. Specialist, MCC Transportation
The Sr. Specialist, MCC Transportation is responsible for managing over-the-road freight operations from the Metal Container Corporation (MCC) facilities and third-party warehouses, optimizing transportation costs, monitoring carrier performance against key KPIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, enhancing carrier and plant relationships, and driving process improvements to meet logistics goals and service level agreements.
Job Responsibilities :
- Responsible for securing freight coverage from multiple MCC production facilities and third-party warehouse locations via over the road and dedicated carriers.
- Drive performance relative to overall MCC transportation budget, focused on delivering shipment plans with cost-effective carriers.
- Work daily with cross-functional teams such as inventory management, order management, Tier 1, and BSC.
- Monitor carrier performance of critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including award acceptance percentage, on-time arrival, on-time delivery, FPL, and carrier freight claims.
- Manage MCC returnable materials between MCC and third-party locations.
- Develop and improve relationships with MCC carrier partners by providing excellent customer service and communicating in a professional manner.
- Identify and implement process changes that improve execution in day-to-day activities.
- Address operational topics with sense of urgency and make sure operations are servicing internal SLAs.
- Work effectively as a team member within the logistics team to deliver overall strategic goals and improve team engagement.
Job Qualifications :
