Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician III reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, performs all technical duties associated with the daily operation of the dispensing areas; performs prescription related, unit dose related, and sterile product related functions; performs manufacturing procedures that have been documented in the Department records.  Performs all Pharmacy Technician II duties as needed.

Scheduling :

• This is a casual status position regularly scheduled to work every other Saturday and Sunday OR six (6) weekend shifts within a six (6) week scheduling period outside of the initial training / orientation period.

During an initial training period of one (1) to two (2) months, 160 hours are anticipated, with some shifts occuring during the week.

Required :

Newly licensed Technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their certification.
