Global Benefits Associate

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Benefits Management team at Mercer. This role will be based in Chicago and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

As a Global Benefits Associate, you will partner with Global Benefits Senior Associates and Directors to manage client meetings and serve as a liaison between global client & local brokerage teams. You will assist global clients with monitoring their employee benefit programs around the world by managing and summarizing renewal progress and terms with a view to ensuring a level of governance and consistency with their objectives. You will develop a strong understanding of global health and welfare benefit products, services, technical tools, and vendor / carrier markets, providing renewal directions to local brokerage teams and managing to project timelines, as well as outlining data and reporting expectations within our proprietary Global Benefits Management tools & platforms, developing, peer reviewing, and transmitting client deliverables.

We will count on you to :

  • Manage and execute project deliverables for clients' implementation, ongoing, and renewals.
  • Track and report project status to brokers / clients and internal management teams, including the nature of local discussions impacting the insurance placement or plan design strategy.
  • Serve as a liaison between local brokerage offices and global client.
  • Process execution and ensuring all standard procedures and controls are being followed.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners (consultants, brokers and clients)

What you need to have :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of experience in a similar competencies' role
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail, with a proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with a talent for building strong relationships
  • Self-motivated, fast learner, quality-focused, and committed to meeting deadlines
  • A team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of the MS Office suite
