Description

At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Medical Oncology Registered Nurses (RNs) provide specialized, compassionate care to hospitalized patients undergoing cancer treatment. These dedicated professionals play a vital role in administering therapies, managing symptoms, and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. Minimum Qualifications

  • Education : Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred.
  • Licensure : Current and valid Connecticut RN license.
  • Experience : Minimum of 1 year in an acute inpatient setting.
  • Certifications : BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Work Schedule

Part-time, 24 hours, Nights

  • 12-hour shifts- 7p to 7 : 30a
  • Schedule Weekend & Holidays are required.

    • Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Monitoring : Continuously assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and document clinical progress.
  • Medication Administration : Deliver oncology-specific treatments with attention to accurate dosing, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Patient & Family Education : Provide clear, empathetic education on diagnoses, treatments, and self-care strategies.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to monitor neurological status, cognitive function, motor skills, and sensory responses.
