Special Instructor, Adjunct

Primary Purpose

Seeking qualified candidates for adjunct nursing faculty positions to provide clinical instruction in critical care, medical-surgical, and obstetrics settings. Adjunct faculty will work closely with nursing students in various clinical environments, guiding them in the application of nursing theory to patient care, promoting safe and evidence-based practices, and supporting the development of clinical judgment.

Requirements

  • Education / Experience : Based on the program, the colleague must meet education and practice requirements as applicable.
  • Must hold a current active unrestricted applicable license in the State of Ohio
  • Current CPR certification is required if teaching in a clinical setting
  • Teaching experience in a collegiate or university setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, evaluates, and advises students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences.
  • Maintains student records.
  • Facilitates a learning and caring environment which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual student.
  • Maintains communication and oversees the activities of Assistant Instructors / Preceptors regarding course curriculum and student evaluation, if applicable.
  • Participates in professional activities, programs and professional organizations.
  • Participates in peer review.
  • Participates in College and Faculty Assembly according to full-time / part-time employment status.
  • Attends required College functions.
  • Mentors new faculty.
  • Participates in scholarly activities, either individually or collaboratively.
