Economic Development Corporation of KC ProspectUS Plan Manager The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, is currently accepting applications for the position of ProspectUS Plan Manager. This full-time staff position requires close collaboration with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City (EDKCK), the City Manager, and the City Council to determine priorities using the ProspectUS Plan Implementation Matrix. The plan manager will play a crucial role in advancing and executing the strategies outlines in the ProspectUS Plan (link included on website). Key responsibilities include : Work closely with the supervisor to develop a comprehensive implementation approach, which includes both short-term and long-term action items. Develop and manage implementation budget to determine project costs. Engage in project management activities such as developing scopes of work, managing consultants, maintaining timelines, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering required outcomes. Facilitating engagement with EDC staff and Agency partners, City departments, external agencies, and other stakeholders to support ProspectUS implementation. Conduct research on best practices associated with implementation items. Create and maintain public-facing information on EDCKC’s website, including project descriptions, success measures, and progress tracking. Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders to provide updates on the progress. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with partners and major stakeholders. Identify solutions to existing barriers for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) reinvestment along the Prospect Corridor. Identify project financing, investment, and development partnerships that benefit both current area residents and external investors. Determine critical infrastructure needs to facilitate both new and infill development. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Planning (Preferred), Economics, Business / Public Administration, Finance, or a similar field; a graduate degree in these areas is a plus. Minimum of 5 years’ experience. The Plan Manager shall have expertise in project planning, redevelopment activities, and at least 5 years of experience in project administration and direction. A broad knowledge of planning, development, design issues, city, state, and federal redevelopment regulations, programs and activities, land use development, financing issues, municipal, local, and state taxation issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in the use of personal computer and general software including word processing, spreadsheets, database packages, and having a general familiarity with computer-based mapping information systems. This is a full-time exempt position with a salary commensurate with experience.
