Responsibilities Work in a Neuro ICU with high-acuity neuro and general ICU patients, including sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleeds, and COVID cases Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2; ratios may be 1 : 4 for downgraded patients Night shift with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options available Use of ventilators, EVDs, bolts, pacemakers, thermoregulation equipment, and NxStage CRRT EMR system used is Epic Floating between like units, including PCU, MS / Tele, and MS Neuro, is required Weekend shifts required every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill neurological and general ICU patients Required to float to other units within the nurse's skill set as needed Strong neuro experience is highly preferred Comprehensive orientation provided prior to independent practice Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled All time-off requests (RTO) must be included at the time of application; no additional time off will be accommodated after submission Professional scrubs are required Reliable transportation is necessary Must complete all compliance and onboarding requirements within 72 hours of accepting an offer Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required at the time of application Minimum of 2 years recent experience in neuro ICU or comparable high-acuity ICU setting Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred Epic EMR experience required Two supervisory references covering one year of employment within the past three years must be provided First-time travelers will be considered Applicants with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel position Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50-mile radius Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623036.
