MATERIALS & MEASUREMENTS ENGINEER

Resonant Sciences LLC has an immediate opening for a Materials & Measurements Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team. The position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position shall be a self-starter who can work independently, unsupervised, and with little guidance. The candidate will have an opportunity to be a member of a world-class team consisting of talented and dedicated engineers, technicians and professionals who work together to interrupt and challenge the status quo to design and develop state-of-the-art technologies.

Essential Functions

We are looking for a Materials & Measurements Engineer with experience in microwave measurement and characterization of electromagnetic materials and structures. This experience would consist of (1) a theoretical understanding of such electromagnetic materials and structures, (2) a practical and theoretical understanding of RCS measurements, S-parameters, and general scattering principles, (3) a practical understanding of the execution of high-quality laboratory measurements, and (4) detailed experience in the design and implementation of the relevant measurement hardware and systems.

The primary tasks of this role will involve materials and structures scattering measurements, measurement hardware design and implementation, program management, customer interaction and support, as well as the direction of technicians and junior engineers. You will be required to work closely with all stakeholders in various departments; therefore, strong interpersonal skills are a necessity. We expect the chosen candidate to be hands-on in our labs and production floor, working with our technicians.

Critical Functions

• Perform and / or direct the collection of high-quality electromagnetic materials and structures scattering measurements.
• Perform RCS, antenna, and / or intrinsic material property extractions on a wide array of target materials and structures.
• Design measurement hardware for the electromagnetic scattering measurements.
• Design materials and structures for electromagnetic applications.
• Develop and write data reports and system software and hardware manuals.
• Consult with stakeholders in other departments to facilitate moving material and measurement system technologies from design and development to production and delivery.
• Communicate technical concepts and results to external and internal customers to influence company / program decisions.
• Provide technical guidance in the development of new technologies for materials, measurements, and systems.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
