The Residential Skills Instructor is responsible for implementing individual service and behavioral plans, supervising and supporting the daily activities of individuals, and providing ongoing support, guidance, and role modeling. The role includes developmental skills training through recreational and therapeutic services, as well as community integration to foster a learning environment.

Minimum Education Required : High School Diploma / GED
Shift : Blended Shift, Second Shift
Shift Details : Sunday 9am-11pm; Mon & Tue 3pm-11pm; Wed 2pm-11pm
Responsibilities :
- Report on time and spend at least 95% of working hours in direct contact with individuals.
- Assist individuals with goal implementation and behavioral plans.
- Participate in planning and executing daily routines and activities.
- Support community integration and self-advocacy efforts.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and role modeling.
- Assist with home maintenance and cleaning duties.
- Develop and address person-centered goals.
- Document interactions, behavioral observations, and clinical notes using Microsoft Outlook.
- Lift, transfer, and transport individuals as needed.
- Maintain all mandatory certifications (First Aid, CPR, Safety Care, etc.).
- Encourage community participation and attend scheduled appointments.
- Safeguard individuals' monetary funds.
- Report and document significant issues or incidents.
- Perform physical interventions during client crises.
- Participate in supervision, meetings, and training sessions.
- Uphold dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' policies.
- Perform duties in line with agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED, with three years of experience in Human Services.Experience with behavioral plans and data collection.Knowledge of applied behavioral therapy is preferred.Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.High energy, team-oriented, and independent work capability.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.Commitment to providing a clean, homelike environment.Ability to operate agency vehicles and hold a valid driver's license.Strong computer skills.Advocates is committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture that respects and values all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability, or background.
