Description :
The Entry-Level Dental Technician (Removable Waxer) is responsible for fabricating base plates, rims, and contouring wax for removable prosthetics including full and partial dentures. This role involves interpreting prescriptions, sculpting accurate wax patterns, and preparing cases for processing within the removable department.
Essential Functions
- Read and interpret prescriptions included with each case, construct prostheses in alignment with doctors’ written orders and specifications.
- Analyze models and perform bite block fabrication using anatomical guidelines.
- Build wax rims for full and partial dentures with precision to ensure proper occlusion, aesthetics, and fit.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and accuracy in all work produced.
- Follow daily case schedule and production goals to ensure timely progression of cases.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, managers, and other departments regarding case requirements or concerns.
- Utilize and conserve materials and supplies efficiently throughout the fabrication process.
- Operate a wide range of laboratory tools and equipment, including electric drills, lathes, presses, high-heat furnaces, sandblasters, paint brushes, grinders, carvers, wax pots, and bunsen burners.
- Adhere to all established quality control protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and report problematic cases or those requiring additional preparation or clarification.
- Clean and maintain work area, tools, and equipment daily to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Apply technical knowledge and sound judgment to achieve accurate, high-quality results and support departmental goals.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by management to meet evolving business needs.

Demonstrated hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.Preferred
