About The Position

Description :

Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.

Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative.

Assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams according to departmental procedures.

Has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain quality diagnostic studies.

Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

Able to independently perform job functions.

Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions patients for procedures.

Obtains complete clinical history and assesses for contraindicating conditions.

Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media to prevent patient complications.

Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification.

Reviews images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients.

Responds to emergency situations as needed.

Assists other technologists in all modalities when required.

Observes patient conditions and evaluates situations requiring physician intervention.

Verifies patient identity prior to performing procedures.

Ensures patient privacy and comfort are maintained.

Demonstrates competence in the determination and application of appropriate procedures and techniques.

Organizes schedule, time, and priorities to accomplish activities within designated time frames.

Follows physician instructions when assisting with procedures and exams.

Understands and demonstrates pre-procedure verification and Time Out processes when needed.

Prepares patients for procedures and demonstrates understanding of sterile techniques.

Prepares trays and participates in procedures as applicable.

Prepares and may administer contrast, verifying orders and checking patient labs as appropriate.

Uses safety devices to protect patients during exams.

Understands anatomical positioning and correct labeling of body parts.

Applies critical thinking skills and seeks clarification on ambiguous orders.

Demonstrates the ability to adjust technique to maintain image quality.

Reports equipment malfunctions promptly.

Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment according to infection control policies.

Patiently explains the purpose and nature of exams to minimize anxiety.

Addresses patients' questions, concerns, or contraindications.

Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees.

Ensures documentation is concise and legible.

Reads and follows emails related to work assignments.

Completes mandatory education without prompting.

Produces acceptable images and follows established exam protocols.

Ensures equipment is operational prior to each use.

Sends all studies to the designated system after completion.

Maintains a safe environment within the MRI suite.

Restocks linens and supplies and keeps the department in good condition.

Transports and positions patients as needed.

Performs patient charging activities on the same day of service.

Applies supportive devices and helps others when necessary.

Performs clerical and support duties as needed.

Keeps aware of responsibilities and informs supervisors promptly of any issues.

Maintains productivity rates consistent with co-workers.

Operates all workstations associated with the MRI scanner.

Maintains regulatory agency standards and other requirements.

Performs any other duties as assigned.

Takes call when necessary.
