Role Description

Join Glenwood Lutheran Church as our Part-Time Music Minister (10 hrs / week) where your gifts can help bring out the best in others through inclusive, diverse worship music. This role ensures vibrant, diverse music in weekly services and festivals, accompanies congregational singing (piano / organ), and guides a worship team in shaping our vision for worship. The Music Minister will direct choirs, foster partnerships with local musicians, and create opportunities for neighbors to engage in music beyond our walls. Additional responsibilities include coordinating music planning, maintaining instruments and sound equipment, and supporting live-streaming. We are looking for a skilled, organized musician rooted in faith, experienced in liturgical music, and passionate about incorporating diverse traditions, especially African American music.

Qualifications

• Experience with church music
• Strong keyboard and music education skills
• Leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteer choir
• Degree in Music or related field is preferred
• Proficiency in pipe organ is preferred
• Lutheran background is not essential but an engagement with Christian faith is
