The role of the Substance Use Disorder Counselor is to provide substance assessment and treatment using various modalities. The counselor may also provide DUI services if properly trained and credentialed.

Key duties include :

• Providing clinical services (individual, group counseling, case management, and early intervention) to clients with substance use disorders based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine Placement criteria.
• Submitting written and verbal reports to referral sources following Bridgeway standards.
• Performing DUI evaluations and Risk Education classes, if credentialed and trained.
• Facilitating urinalysis and breath testing as needed.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree or 1-2 years of related experience and / or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Reliable transportation is also required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks.
