Key Job Details – Florida Nursing Jobs Location : Vero Beach, Florida 32960 – Access to beaches, parks, and a welcoming healthcare community Healthcare Setting : Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) in a short-term acute care teaching hospital Employment Type : Locum tenens travel nurse contract Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 4 / 2025 – End : 2 / 3 / 2026) Nursing Shifts : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts weekly (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary : $1460-$1500 Unit : Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) Charting System : EPIC Scrub Color : White Parking : Free, unrestricted spaces Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 18 months of recent PCU / Stepdown nursing experience (2 years preferred) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (pending license accepted) BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required prior to start Epic charting experience (proficiency level 3 or 4) Experience with cardiac drips (no titration) Nicotine-free (negative cotinine screen required) COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) First-time travel nurses accepted Must pass EKG and Pharm tests during orientation (2 attempts max each) PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care in the PCU / Cardiac Stepdown Unit Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; utilize rapid response / code teams Administer blood products; manage central and peripheral lines Monitor and manage cardiac drips (no titration required) Provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management Implement isolation precautions and telemetry monitoring Float to other units / hospitals within 20 miles (Martin North, South, Tradition) Complete time-sensitive modules and compliance requirements promptly Discover top Florida nursing jobs and join our healthcare team in Vero Beach.
