Responsibilities Work in a 52-bed Long Term Care unit within a hospital setting Patient population includes long-term residents, stable patients, and typical nursing home cases No memory care unit and no tracheostomy or ventilator patients Occasional care for dementia, comfort care, feeding tubes, IVs, and catheters RN to patient ratio is 1 : 25-30 with medication aide and CNA support Point Click Care is the primary charting system with view-only Epic Care Link access 12-hour variable shifts with flexibility to work days or nights as needed Rotating weekend coverage required, minimum every other weekend Staff may be assigned to both sides of the unit as part of two-nurse teams No on-call responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care, including comfort care and working with hospice as necessary Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including rotating supervisors, hospitalists, and OTs Hospitalist rounds twice per week and facility is connected to ED for quick response Initial orientation includes two shifts, one on each unit, plus additional education sessions Scrubs must be ceil blue top and black pants; no artificial nails allowed Free parking available Holiday shifts required for at least two out of four major holidays May be required to stay overnight during severe weather situations, with pay provided Up to 7 days off allowed; full week absences require contract extension First-time travelers are welcome if they meet LTC experience requirements Requirements Active SD or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required Graduation from an approved nursing education program Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience preferred; candidates with less will require manager approval Long Term Care experience required for first-time travelers Proficiency with tube feeds, ostomy care, wound care, phlebotomy, IV starts, and charge duties Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility Previous permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler Compliance with COVID testing requirements in accordance with CMS guidelines Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621837.
