This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Build and Release in United States.

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Build and Release, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless development, integration, and deployment of cloud-based products. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact projects that directly shape cloud microservice architectures. You will be responsible for managing complex release cycles, automating CI / CD pipelines, and optimizing build processes. The role demands strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams. With a focus on automation, reliability, and innovation, you will help drive continuous improvement in release engineering practices. Accountabilities

  • Manage build configuration, administration, and troubleshooting for complex cloud microservice products.
  • Execute branch management, code promotion, and conflict resolution throughout the release lifecycle.
  • Automate build plans, artifact deployment, and promotions using REST API, YAML, and tools such as Argo CD.
  • Implement and maintain CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket / GitHub, and artifact repositories like Nexus, GAR, or JFrog.
  • Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration, ensuring scalable deployments.
  • Support troubleshooting of merge and release blockers, collaborating closely with development and release teams.
  • Maintain strong documentation, FAQs, and process workflows to support stakeholders.
  • Champion DevOps best practices including infrastructure as code, automated testing, and secure deployment processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in build and release engineering within cloud platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Strong programming / scripting skills in Python, Java, C++, or Go.
  • Hands-on expertise with Python, REST API, and YAML.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm for containerization and orchestration.
  • Experience with repository management tools such as Nexus, GAR, or JFrog.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, Git, Jira, Bitbucket / GitHub, and CI / CD platforms such as Jenkins or Bamboo.
  • Solid understanding of IT security practices including encryption, certificates, and compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration in fast-paced environments.
  • Preferred : experience with AWS / GCP, ITIL knowledge, and additional CI / CD practices.

  • Competitive base pay depending on location :
  • San Francisco Bay Area : 133,400 – 226,600 USD annually
  • All other US locations : 116,000 – 197,000 USD annually
  • Eligibility for performance-based bonus.
