Overview
Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Early Childhood and Special Education Teacher for a Long Term Substitute position (SY25-26). This role is a per diem substitute position, including long-term assignments. The start and end dates in the posting indicate a long-term assignment that begins on 10 / 20 / 2025 and ends on 03 / 30 / 2025. Responsibilities
- Teach Early Childhood General Curriculum in an inclusive setting with students who have Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
- Implement district learning goals and objectives aligned with state frameworks; identify access points for student portfolio development.
- Provide small-group instruction to students diagnosed with moderate to severe cognitive delays to support progress in the general curriculum.
- Write and implement goals and objectives consistent with student IEPs; provide timely progress reports on student development.
- Provide necessary accommodations for student learning and testing;, where required, develop and implement curriculum and collect / analyze student work in preparation for MCAS Alternate Assessment to ensure progress.
- Collaborate with school staff to respond to student needs for modification and support.

Required
Education Level : Bachelors degree.Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities (PK-8) AND Early Childhood.Meet state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching as outlined by the Boston Public Schools.Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.Preferred
Experience teaching in urban schools.Degree in Special Education.SEI Endorsement OR ESL License (PK-6).Fluency in an official BPS language is valued; bilingual candidates are encouraged.Preference for core content teachers to be certified in their subject area and either Moderate Disabilities and / or ESL at the appropriate grade level(s).Terms
