Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for providing healthcare patient services aligned with education, training, competency, experience and demonstrates knowledge related to scope of practice.
Job Functions
- Assesses, diagnoses, provides and implements a treatment plan of care and follow up as needed
- Performs physical examinations
- Interprets and evaluates patient data
- Orders, performs or reviews diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Provides instructions regarding patient care, disease prevention, and health promotion
- Creates and maintains appropriate patient records including transmitting or executing specific orders
- Prescribes, administers and dispenses medications, controlled substances and medical devices as appropriate
- Initiates evaluation and treatment procedures essential to providing an appropriate response to emergency situations
- Assists in surgery (if applicable)
- Works directly with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to obtain DEA registration
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ongoing collaboration with in-office teammates, as well as with virtual clinical teams
- Supervising one or more NP or PA colleagues
Minimum Education / Work Experience
Board certified in Family Medicine or Medicine / Pediatrics, or Board Eligible with plans to obtain board certification within 1 year of your One Medical start dateMD, DO, or foreign equivalency trainingBE / BC with ABMS or AOAActive, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to effectively handle high-stress fast paced environmentAbility to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.Ability to multi-taskAbility to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populationsAbility to meet criteria / qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicableLicense / Certifications
