About The Position

Job Title : Physical Therapy Assistant

Experience : Must have experience in Outpatient Orthopedics

License : Physical Therapist Assistant

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have : Effective communication skills, customer service focused, team oriented, and basic computer skills.

Description :

The Physical Therapy Assistant collaborates with the Physical Therapist to plan and implement treatment programs.

These programs aim to restore or improve mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion in patients.

Services are provided in a cost-conscious and quality-focused manner.

Compliance with regulatory standards is required in this role.

The Physical Therapy Assistant implements the treatment plan directed by the Physical Therapist.

They select appropriate treatment activities to help patients progress toward their goals.

Goals and plans of care are revised in collaboration with the Physical Therapist and the patient or family.

Patient and family education and training are ongoing responsibilities.

Discharge instructions and referrals to community resources are provided as needed.

The assistant serves as a referral resource for staff, families, and physicians regarding rehabilitation services.

Documentation of each treatment session follows departmental protocols.

All necessary documentation, including family education and discharge information, is completed within guidelines.

The role requires adherence to ethical business practices and confidentiality of patient information.

Attendance and punctuality must align with system policies.

The assistant is expected to dress appropriately according to departmental dress code policies.

Effective verbal and written communication with team members is essential.

Workload must be organized to complete responsibilities in a timely manner.

Materials and equipment must be used safely and effectively.

Infection prevention precautions must be observed.

Striving to improve customer service is a priority.

Encouraging a positive environment for co-workers and patients is important.

Consistency in applying service principles in interactions with patients is expected.

Knowledge of service recovery principles should be demonstrated.

Participation in professional development and mandatory education activities is required.

Completion of core and annual competencies within established timelines is necessary.

All educational requirements for licensure must be fulfilled.

The assistant may also help orient and train new employees.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Compliance with all policies and standards of work is expected.
