About The Position

Job Title : Staff Nurse Emergency Department

Profession : Nursing

Shift : Day Days, Every other weekend

Hours per Shift : 48.00

Experience : 3 years current experience working in an Emergency Department and previous traveler experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.

License : Current Registered Nurse License

Certifications : BLS Certification

Must-Have : Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing

Description :

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.

Prevention of illness and injury is a priority.

The RN alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses.

Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key responsibility.

The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development.

The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients.

When designated by unit assignment, the RN serves as a primary nurse and / or accountable nurse.

Factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact are considered.

Educating patients and families in health promotion and disease management is essential.

A working knowledge of pharmacology is utilized for safe medication administration.

Responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization includes staffing, time management, and supplies.

Compliance with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory.

Participation in professional development and continuing nursing education is essential.

Completing all mandatory education requirements is expected.

Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is encouraged.

A supportive learning environment is provided for new employees and students.

The RN may perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

Additional responsibilities may be assumed as assigned.
