Summary :

The Applications Engineer will design, select, and configure pumps and fluid systems, support applications engineering with equipment sizing, pricing, and quoting, provide technical support to sales, service, and customers, manage project bids, orders, and timelines, coordinate with factory for documentation and equipment start-up, maintain and update quotation logs.

Position Summary

The Applications Engineer will provide technical expertise and support to sales, operations, and customers. This role is responsible for designing, selecting, and configuring pumps and fluid handling systems, preparing proposals, managing projects, and ensuring solutions meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, select, and configure pumps, fluid handling systems, and related rotating equipment.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and cost estimates based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, service shops, and aftermarket groups.
  • Manage projects from order through delivery, including documentation, vendor coordination, assembly, and start-up.
  • Evaluate bid requirements, review technical data, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Support sales efforts by following up on quotes and assisting in system / equipment selection.
  • Maintain quotation logs and track bid status.
  • Stay current with new products, vendor offerings, and industry technologies.
  • Promote profitability through cost-effective engineering and "Profit Management" practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (preferred) or related technical field; or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3+ years of experience with pumps, rotating equipment, or fluid handling systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of centrifugal pumps, valves, mixers, piping systems, and related equipment.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • (Preferred) Experience with DXP's ERP system (Prophet 21 / P-21).

    Working Conditions

  • Standard office hours : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites, vendors, or factories.
  • Location : USA : TX : Odessa
