DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Transportation Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting preliminary, intermediate, and final inspections of bonded roadways throughout PennDOT District 2-0 for the purpose of assessing roadway damages attributed to heavy hauling operations. You will be tasked with performing roadway condition surveys in accordance with department guidelines, as well as reporting any highway occupancy permit issues or maintenance concerns during the completion of duties. In addition, you may also participate in developing estimates for quantities of material which may be required to repair damaged areas. Excellent organizational skills and effective prioritization is essential, as you will be tasked with documenting inspection reports and updating permit logs for each assignment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).
