Summary

The Application Engineer is responsible for design, delivery, quality, and continual improvement of application solutions for M&A from initial onboarding through complete integration. The role reports to the Senior Application Engineer and functions as a member of the Technology Integration Delivery team within M&A Integration. This role is responsible for deliverable timeliness and quality related to application conversions. The successful candidate will have broad, general IT knowledge to be able to rapidly assess new acquisition IT environments and contribute to the integration planning along with a dedicated team of business and technical experts.

Key Responsibilities

Application Conversion

Assess landscape of acquired entity's applications and determine appropriate conversion approach and path

Perform standard application discovery with manual and scripted processes

Articulate situations where no solution exists, and new engineering is needed

Execute data migration strategies and implement conversions for standard systems (e.g. Epic, Benefit Point, MS Dynamics) in partnership with vendor partners, providing a high quality, timely delivery using either a scripted or manual data conversion

Assist with post-application conversion support efforts, addressing and eliminating issues and facilitating Service Introduction to the IT Service Management Team

Help develop processes to scale application discovery across many types of applications

Document solution details and facilitate knowledge transfer to IT solutions teams and Service Management Team

Own application migration runbooks, customer preparations and cross team training

Evenings, weekends or non-regular hours will be required.

Quality and Documentation

Contribute to the application inventory repository, identifying applications that do not fit with HUB's enterprise catalog

Analyze and recommend strategies to support such applications and identify system retirement and consolidation situations

Ensure integration solutions are properly documented and maintained in a content management repository

Catalog, classify, and inventory application dependencies to establish repeatable methodologies

Team Leadership and Management

Ensure delivery, quality, and continual improvement of the application conversion process

Maintain alignment with Business Operations and Training (BOT) to address the implications of the conversion approach on training and communications

Demonstrate Operations and Technology Leadership Behaviors (one team, build trust, customer driven, future focused, innovate daily, and be curious) in all actions and ways of working, and coach their organization on the behaviors

Fulfill additional duties as required

Key Success Measurements

Ensuring data integrity and meeting data quality requirements

Executing successful integration projects across the entire M&A portfolio

Completing conversion activities within the timelines set forth at the beginning of the integration process

Qualifications

Well-grounded in technology and has a solid understanding of application conversions, specific experience includes :

3 years of experience in project-based process and technology design and delivery execution roles

Experience working in a matrixed environment designing and delivering solutions for complex people, technology, and process integration programs

Experience with Windows PowerShell, robocopy and batch files scripting

Application migration experience with broker management systems a plus (i.e Epic, Benefit Point, AMS360, etc.)

Working knowledge with the following technology domains : SaaS technologies, application configuration / packaging for cloud computing, AWS, Azure, Windows Server (all flavors), MS SQL

Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Understanding of the broker / carrier ecosystems

Bachelor's degree in information technology or related education and / or certifications

Authorized to work in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico

This position is based out of Chicago on a hybrid work schedule.
